10th October, 2007: Department of English Osmania University, listening comprehension CBT, to be used by 800 affiliated colleges for teaching English listening comprehension, final product was signed off. Official launch of this product is scheduled on the 25th of October.
This CD content is prepared by the Department of English; Osmania University is designed to help learners at the undergraduate level to improve their Listening Skills. The CD offers samples of three types of spoken language: Informal Conversations, Formal Conversations, and Classroom Lectures. Each audio sample is followed by five questions and the learner answers them by choosing the most appropriate of the four given alternatives.
The content of the CD is divided into two sections: ‘Lessons’ and ‘Practice’. In the ‘Lessons’ section there are altogether 15 lessons comprising five each of Informal and Formal Conversations, and Classroom Lectures. The instructor can select some or all of these lessons to demonstrate/explain the main and the sub-skills involved in listening for comprehension.
SDK Technologies did the technical support and development of the CD. The entire application is developed using the patented tool of SDK Technologies, TestRunner. Since the content is developed from the ground, time available for development and testing is significantly less. It was a tremendous achievement for SDK Technologies to complete the project on time with shoe string budgets. |
